What will an Office Administrative Clerk do?
The Office Administrative Clerk is a versatile support role responsible for maintaining central supply operations, providing administrative and front desk support, and performing light custodial duties. This position ensures the smooth functioning of the Opportunity Campus by preparing supplies for multiple departments, covering the front desk reception area when the receptionist is unavailable, setting up and maintaining conference and training rooms, monitoring shipping, and receiving, and offering general administrative support. The Office Admin Clerk is essential in maintaining a clean and organized environment and serves as the main backup to the front desk receptionist, central supply management, and supports the Director of Office Administration.
Job Functions
- Through words and actions support Chattanooga Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.
- Maintain agency, employee, and participants confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.
- Front Desk Reception Coverage: Serve as the primary backup for the front desk receptionist, handling incoming calls, greeting visitors, and providing information about services and programs.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude with all staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring a welcoming and organized environment.
- Central Supply Support: Prepare and distribute supplies for multiple departments within Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of supplies, ensuring all departments have the necessary resources.
- Reorder supplies as needed and specified.
- Conference and Training Room Set-Up: Assist in setting up conference and training rooms, including arranging furniture, setting up equipment, and ensuring cleanliness before and after meetings.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure proper room configurations and materials are available.
- Shipping and Receiving: Monitor shipping and receiving activities at the Opportunity Campus, including tracking incoming and outgoing packages.
- Ensure packages are delivered to the appropriate department or individual in a timely manner.
- General Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support, such as photocopying, filing, data entry, and maintaining office equipment.
- Assist the Director of Office Administration with special projects and tasks as needed.
- Light Custodial Duties: Perform light cleaning duties, including tidying up common areas, emptying trash, and maintaining the cleanliness of breakrooms.
- Replenish breakroom supplies, such as coffee, snacks, and paper products, ensuring a clean and well-stocked environment.
- Regular attendance is an essential function. Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure the department is operated efficiently and cost-effectively.

Key Knowledge and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Problem-solving aptitude and proactive approach to challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.).
- Ability to lift and move supplies and equipment up to 30 pounds.
- Driver license for 3 years.
- Valid Driver’s License and Car Insurance Verification, required.
- Must pass MVR check and maintain a good driving record.
