Position Summary
The Behavior Interventionist provides essential support to teachers, staff, and parents by offering training and technical assistance in instructional strategies, educational planning, and behavior management. This role collaborates closely with parents to develop and implement behavioral intervention strategies that promote positive outcomes and support scholars’ academic achievement. The ideal candidate is skilled in fostering a supportive learning environment and equipping educators and families with effective tools to enhance student success.
Responsibilities
- Consult with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding issues relating to student performance.
- Conduct classroom observations; provide written documentation of classroom and student observations to teachers and administrators.
- Trains and monitors teachers and paraprofessionals in appropriate behavioral strategies and data collection in support of ESSA guidelines.
- Model and provide training to teachers and paraprofessionals in effective classroom management and strategies to improve behavior; serves as a coach to improve teacher performance and student achievement.
- Supports the RTI/MTSS process in schools.
- Provide technical assistance and develops/monitors appropriate behavioral plans in support of ESSA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or closely related area is required. Minimum one (1) year of social work, school psychology, counseling or closely related experience is required.
