Primary Responsibilites
Plans, delivers, and assesses highly effective instruction aligned to national and state content standards.
Enact the Chattanooga Preparatory curriculum using evidence-based instructional practices tailored to scholars needs.
Communicates specific learning objectives to scholars.
Link lesson content to scholars prior knowledge of math, background experience and / or real-world application.
Captures scholar attention through active involvement.
Administers scholar assessments and utilize data to identify areas of growth.
Establishes clear content and language objectives for all lessons.
Engages in continuous and sustained reflection on teaching practices and leadership behaviors, and adapt methods as needed to achieve school goals and performance objectives.
Develops strong and sustained relationships with parents and members of the community by creating opportunities for involvement in scholars learning and development.
Plans and collaborates with Chattanooga Preparatory teachers and colleagues to reach shared goals and objectives.
Fosters a motivating, supportive, learning-centered culture of excellence in a well-structured and managed classroom.
Establishes and enforces rules of behavior and procedures for maintaining order in their classroom.
Be innovative. Create exciting and engaging, inquiry-oriented learning activities.
Characteristics and Qualifications
Ideal candidate will hold a bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Must have a current middle grades certification, 6-8 Math through the State of Tennessee.
A self-starter interested in working in a fast-paced, startup environment that requires flexible roles.
A high level of personal integrity and professionalism.
An unwavering commitment to high academic achievement and high expectations of all scholars.
A capacity to motivate and lead in order to yield the highest academic performance possible from all scholars.
A team-oriented approach and the ability to effectively communicate.
Ability to give constructive feedback to facilitate scholar growth and academic achievement.
Openness to receive feedback on issues that will facilitate growth and achievement of both scholars and faculty.
Experience in working with middle grades scholars in urban environments.
Evidence of advancing scholars achievement on state assessments required if candidate has prior teaching experience. If candidate does not have prior teaching experience, evidence of achieving ambitious goals required.
