Position Summary :

Responsible for the operational activities within the Engineering and Information Technologies Division in support of the ChSCC service area . Collaborates with the dean, department heads, and faculty regarding curriculum development, new program initiatives, and outreach efforts related to the secondary educators and administrators. Serves as the principal for external funding opportunities and management of said funds. Professionally represents the division and College in the community and extended service area.

Academic Unit : Engineering and Information Technologies

  • Twelve-month, full-time position
  • ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

    Teaching Excellence and Program Innovation

  • Manage and coordinate accreditation activities within the division; eg. SACS, ABET, & ATMAE.
  • Aggressively seek, manage, and administer external funding (grants) sources.
  • Assist department heads and dean with new program development in response to business and industry requests.
  • Collaborate with dean and department heads to complete performance-funding activities.
  • Serve as the articulation officer for the division.
  • Coordinate university relations related to 2 2 agreements and transfers.
  • Support dean and department heads with annual budgets.
  • Organizational Culture and Inclusive Practices

  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering and industrial technology education, curriculum development, and outreach in a community learning-centered environment, including the changing demands placed on engineering technology technicians in the 21st century, and how these will be reflected in the curricula of the future.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including public speaking and development of promotional materials; understanding of marketing strategies; excellent interpersonal skills consistent with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; basic webpage skills; basic grant writing skills.
  • Possess ability to interact with a diverse faculty, staff and student population. A demonstrated ability to develop relationships in building partnerships and collaborative relationships within and outside of the College environment; including efforts to promote the development and transfer of engineering and industrial technology programs of study to assist with local and regional economic growth through partnerships with business / industry and governmental officials. Must have a strong work ethic and unquestionable integrity .
  • Holistic Student Support

  • Coordinate major field assessment initiative in conjunction with department heads and lead faculty through administration, tracking, and developing psychometrics through external evaluation
  • Manage student mentoring and small learning community activities within the division.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned and as needed.
  • Required Qualifications

    Minimum of an Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Education, or a closely related discipline, with at least 2 years work experience in an academic, business, or educational setting.

    Special requirements and conditions

    Flexible schedule and some travel required; must have a valid vehicle operator’s license. This position is based at main campus and may require occasional travel to the satellite campuses, community locations and industry partner locations. Work with dual-enrollment high school students (background check will be required).

    Salary Range : $47,341 - $59,176

  • Pay will be determined based on experience and education in accordance with the salary guidelines of the Tennessee Board of Regents. To ensure consideration, all relevant work experience must be included in the application.
