Tutor (After-School Program)
Organization: Chautauqua Striders
Location: Washington Middle School, Jamestown, NY
Hours: Monday-Friday, 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm (15 hours per week)

Position Overview:
We are actively seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our team as Tutors. As a Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students’ academic growth and fostering a positive learning experience. Responsibilities:
Assisting Students:
- Work closely with students to provide individualized support with homework, assignments, and enrichment.
- Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere to boost students’ confidence and motivation.
Lesson Planning and Implementation:
- Develop engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives and student needs.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Classroom Management and Supervision:
- Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
- Implement effective behavior management techniques to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
Enrichment Activities:
- Create and facilitate enrichment activities that enhance students’ creativity, critical thinking, and social skills.
- Explore interdisciplinary approaches to make learning fun and meaningful.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Passion for Education: A genuine interest in working with young learners and helping them succeed.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to the unique needs of each student and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Reliability: Punctuality and commitment to the assigned schedule.
- Experience: Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring is a plus.
