Aircrew Officer - Search and Rescue Role
At CHC Helicopters, we specialize in providing helicopter services that enable our customers to operate safely and reliably in remote locations worldwide.
The Aircrew Officer plays a crucial technical crew role, proficient in various techniques necessary for Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical, Rappelling, Sling Loading, Passenger Transport, and Winching Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain dual qualifications as an Aircrew Officer & Rescue Crew Officer.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Cultivate safe flight operations in accordance with company operations manuals and relevant regulations.
- Assist the Aircrew Officer/Utility Hoist Operator in managing the aircraft rear cabin during flying operations.
- Deliver thorough flight and safety briefings.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of search and rescue equipment and operation in a safe, reliable manner.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, documenting any issues.
- Prepare aircraft for flights and conduct post-flight maintenance tasks.
- Report on operational and maintenance safety concerns, assisting with replacement of unserviceable equipment.
- Provide first aid when necessary and operate under demanding conditions.
- Be prepared to travel to all CHC bases, including training and deployment locations.
- Complete the company fitness test periodically.
- Promote a visible safety culture, challenging unsafe acts and driving improvements.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
- Hold a current CASA Class II medical certification.
- Be certified in Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen (HLTAID015) and Provide First Aid (HLTAID011).
- Possess a valid Flight Radiotelephone Operators License.
- Hold a CASA-approved hoist endorsement under CASR PART 133/13.
