As a critical member of the CHC Helicopters team, the Aircrew Officer is responsible for ensuring safe and efficient helicopter operations in challenging environments.
This role requires expertise in various aspects of Search and Rescue, including emergency medical response, rappelling, sling loading, passenger transport, and winching operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain expertise in aircrew officer and rescue crew officer roles.
- Comply with company policies and procedures, adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Cultivate a culture of safe flight operations, following company guidelines and industry standards.
- Collaborate with utility hoist operators to manage aircraft cabin operations.
- Conduct comprehensive flight and safety briefings.
- Operate search and rescue equipment efficiently and safely.
- Perform thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, documenting findings.
- Prepare aircraft for flights, completing post-flight maintenance tasks.
- Identify and report safety concerns, contributing to equipment replacement.
- Render first aid when required, functioning effectively in demanding situations.
- Travel to CHC bases, training facilities, and deployment locations.
- Meet company fitness standards through regular assessments.
- Promote a strong safety culture, challenging unsafe behaviors and fostering improvement.
Requirements:
- Current CASA Class II medical certification.
- Hold HLTAID015 and HLTAID011 certifications.
- Valid Flight Radiotelephone Operators License.
- CASA-approved hoist endorsement under CASR PART 133/13.
