CHC Addiction Services is a non-profit social service agency in the Akron area whose mission is to treat, inspire, support and empower individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. CHC has been a critical part of Ohio’s efforts to treat and prevent substance use disorders since 1974.
We are looking for Counselors/Therapists who will join us in our mission of helping those in our community and are specifically looking for staff to join our Residential, MAT, and Outpatient teams!
Outpatient Counselors provide direct service to our Outpatient clients through both individual and group counseling. Counselors provide individual and group counseling by evaluating assessments for identified patients and their family members and based on findings, facilitating a timely and appropriate treatment plan, and coordinating said plan with available agency services and the community. CHC will provide your own private office, quality supervision, and ongoing training and CEUs.
The Outpatient Counselor Position:
Interview patients, coordinate assessment, summarize and evaluate problem areas and patient strengths, Develop treatment plan, complete appropriate case management and review as per agency procedures, Provide individual group, and or family counseling to assigned cases in accordance with the policies and procedures of CHC and the Code of Ethics, Completing thorough and concise documentation of each step of the patient's treatment, Participate and present patient cases weekly in clinical supervision meetings and seek additional professional consultation as needed..

The Outpatient Counselor Position:
- Is Full time, 40 hours a week, generally Monday-Friday, but may include some weekends/evenings. Some positions may start as early as 5:30am.
- Offers paid time off after 6 months

To be eligible for a Counseling/Therapist position you will need to:
- Have a Master’s Degree
- Hold an active Ohio license to counsel as an LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LCDC III, and/or LICDC
- Preferably have at least one year of clinical experience treating patients with substance use disorders
