TITLE: Senior Manager, Program Partnerships
REPORTS TO: Senior Director, Alumni Programs
LOCATION: Hybrid in Washington, DC
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Program Partnerships is responsible for coordinating a complex placement process across CHCI programs to ensure quality on-time placements for program participants. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for post-program and stand-alone career resources and support for current program participants and alums via partnerships with academic institutions and peer organizations. Further, the Senior Manager will supervise and collaborate with the Manager of Recruitment and Outreach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILLITIES
45% Placement Management
- Develop and coordinate strategies for successful placements for CHCI interns and fellows
- Cultivate relationships with potential placement offices, to include Congressional offices and non-governmental organizations in the DC area
- Maintain an up-to-date database of placement opportunities, to include Congressional offices and non-governmental organizations in the DC area
- Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager of Government Relations on all Hill and government agency communication.
- Provide occasional coaching to participants and guidance to placement supervisors
- Conduct training and develop resources for current and prospective placement supervisors
- Collaborate closely with Intern and Fellowship program managers on student status, program updates, and understanding of sponsor requirements
30% Sustaining and Cultivating Partnerships
- Develop new and cultivate and maintain existing collaborative relationships with partner universities and peer organizations, ensuring the successful negotiation, implementation, and compliance of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) to advance CHCI’s goals of supporting the continued professional growth of its alumni
- Work with Senior Manager of Alumni Affairs in hosting yearly graduate school informational webinars and in-person graduate school and resource fair
- Foster relationships with potential employers, to include Congressional offices, Federal agencies and non-governmental organizations in the DC area, to support program participants looking for employment following the Fellowship program
- Manage trades with peer organizations as it relates to conferences and other events
20% Recruitment and Outreach Role Management
- Provide guidance and support to the Manager of Recruitment and Outreach to ensure goals related to our recruitment strategies are being met.
5% Program Teams Support
- Other duties as assigned to support the Programs and Alumni Affairs team
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience working on Capitol Hill or working closely with Capitol Hill staff
- Demonstrated experience in people management, with a focus on fostering inclusive teams
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extensive experience managing projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment
- Keen attention to details
- Ability to work independently and in team setting
- Experience in coaching students and/or alumni on job search strategies
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the Latino community, with a specific focus on first-generation college graduates
- Experience working in collaborative partnerships with Latino and non-Latino education, policy and/or leadership development organizations is preferred
- Willing to work flexible hours with some nights and weekends for CHCI events
- Commitment to the mission of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute
Preferred:
- Experience using Salesforce is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, web platforms, and Salesforce.
