Job Role
CHDI Management seeks an experienced, innovative, and passionate drug discovery scientist to join the preclinical team as Science Director. You will be responsible for developing and coordinating the strategy for human genetics, genomics, and genetic epidemiology as applied to drug discovery. You will participate in interdisciplinary teams to advance drug discovery campaigns, identify human genetics-based targets, and provide insights into target mechanisms, efficacy, and biomarkers.
Job Description
- Provide expertise in human and medical genetics, integrating human genetics with multi-dimensional phenotypic datasets.
- Advance the relationship between genes, encoded proteins, and human phenotypes relevant to Huntington disease (HD).
- Identify allelic series of variants associated with HD clinical and molecular phenotypes.
- Investigate variant function to develop mechanistic insights and candidate therapeutic modulation.
- Explore collaborations to expand CHDI’s human genetic investigations beyond current data.
- Provide human genetics expertise to CHDI’s Enroll Platform and GEMs consortium.
- Identify and mine large genetic epidemiological cohorts for new insights into Huntington disease.
- Utilize genetic tools and approaches to inform biomarkers and therapeutic programs for HD.
- Analyze complex loci and haplotypes, polygenic risk scores, and genetic studies for HD treatment.
- Contribute as part of a multi-disciplinary drug discovery team.
Job Requirements
Salary range : $120,000-220,000. Exact compensation will vary based on experience.
