What we are looking for in an applicant:
- Good communication skills.

- The ability to communicate and interact with customers in a way that makes them feel welcomed.
At least 6 months or more experience of:
- Using and working with a grill, flat top, oven, and deep fryer.
- Proper knowledge on knife handling.
- Proper knowledge of sanitation and food handling.
- Ability to read orders accurately and process them in an efficient manner.
- Working productively with others.
Experience we would like you to have:
- Knowledge of cashiering or using a cash register.
- ServSafe certification or working towards one.
- Handling and butchering of pork, beef, and chicken.
- Knowledge or experience with sausage making.
- The ability to speak fluent or semi fluent Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
- Showing up to work on time and dressed in a professional manner (ie. Proper, clean uniform and grooming)
- Ability to maintain up to date knowledge on recipes and recipe changes as well as rolling specials and ingredients in all sandwiches, empanadas, etc.
- The ability to describe the restaurants food in a way that seems appetizing and to describe the values and history of the restaurant to new customers.
- The ability to read orders and execute them accurately and to maintain timing standards for all items.
- To be able to work with co-workers in an efficient manner and to see who needs help and where work needs done at any given time.
- Can ensure that all daily responsibilities will be given your best and the ability to plan out your day to get things done in the quickest and most accurate way possible.
- Maintains proper cleanliness and sanitation throughout any given work day regardless of daily tasks.
Some common daily tasks and maintenance:
○ Labeling and dating of cooked or opened products.
○ Cooking, prepping, or processing foods for further finishing at a later time.
○ Finishing off empanada mixes and or making empanadas.
○ Filling or creating back ups of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, ham, or chimichurri for the line.
○ Refilling drink coolers and paying attention to in stock and out of stock items throughout the day to update all online ordering applications
○ Cooking or taking orders from customers.
○ Defrosting or thawing out of meats and vegetables from the freezer for various cooking and prepping for the line or other food items.
○ Working with and breaking down meats for sausage making, milanesas, or burgers.
○ Taking and recording temperatures of all coolers and freezers at least 3 times a day.
○ Wiping down tables, cutting boards, and line equipment to maintain throughout the day cleanliness and sanitation.
Uniform:
- Plain black hat / che chori hat or Hairnet
- Black short or medium length sleeve T-shirt or button-up OR black or white chef jacket.
- Black pants (ie. Slacks to start, Chef pants required at a certain point).
- Black nonslip shoes or nonslip shoe covers.
- Apron and Logo T-shirts that can be used for uniform will supplied by the restaurant.
Physical Demands
- The ability to lift 40 lbs. at any given time (ie. pork/beef/chicken boxes or fries/chips/empanada dough boxes.)
- The ability to stand and exert increased mobility throughout an 8 hour workday.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Grasping, standing, walking, active listening, and visual acuity are required.
Benefits
- $11 starting wage with opportunity to increase to 13$ and hour tips (can be 16-20$ hourly at that point).
