We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, and lead a dedicated team in maintaining the Inn’s guest rooms and common areas.
Position Overview:
The Housekeeping Supervisor is a seasonal position that will be responsible for overseeing and supervising the daily housekeeping operations, ensuring that the Inn remains clean, comfortable, and welcoming for all guests. You will lead a small housekeeping team, mentor staff, and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and with a high level of attention to detail. This is a hands-on management role, and you will be actively involved in room cleaning alongside your team. A strong sense of initiative, excellent organizational skills, and a creative approach to housekeeping operations are key to success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Housekeeping Team: Manage a small team of housekeeping staff, delegate daily tasks, and ensure responsibilities are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Hands-on Participation: Actively participate in room cleaning and other housekeeping duties alongside staff, setting an example for cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Mentoring & Staff Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to housekeeping staff, offering constructive feedback, and fostering a positive and efficient work environment.
- Room & Common Area Inspections: Inspect guest rooms and common areas regularly to ensure they meet the Inn’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Laundry & Ironing: Oversee and assist with laundry duties, including the use of a mangler rotary iron when necessary, ensuring linens and towels are cleaned and pressed according to property standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain housekeeping supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and that all items are properly maintained.
- Guest Satisfaction: Address any guest concerns related to housekeeping, ensuring any issues are resolved promptly and effectively to maintain high guest satisfaction.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure housekeeping practices comply with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe and clean working environment for the team.
- Fresh Ideas & Efficiency: Bring new ideas and innovative approaches to housekeeping practices, continually looking for ways to improve operational efficiency and the guest experience.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in a boutique lodging property or similar environment.
- Strong hands-on experience in housekeeping with a keen eye for detail and cleanliness.
- Ability to climb stairs and carry up to 40lbs as needed throughout the day.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a small team.
- Experience with mangler rotary iron equipment is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for both guests and staff.
