Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to join our team. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our operations and protecting the organization from potential compliance Issues through HUD.
Responsibilities
- Work office hours 9am - 5pm Monday thru Friday
- Answer phones, respond to walk-ins and appointments.
- Stay updated on changes with HUD,MSHDA, and Fair Housing regulations that may impact the organization.
- Collaborate with various departments to provide guidance on compliance-related issues.
- Identify areas of risk related to fraud prevention detection and recommend appropriate measures.
- Prepare reports on compliance activities for the Executive Director.
- Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies during audits or inquiries.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of Public Housing principles and practices.
- Experience in Low Income Housing and HUD Requirements.
- Understanding PHA standards and Fair Housing regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively verify Tenants eligibility for Housing.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
