Overview: Check Defense is a fast-growing federal contractor seeking a qualified and experienced professional Electronic Technician II responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS). The successful candidate will maintain, repair, troubleshoot, modify, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices for advanced virtual and simulation training systems, including but not limited to, Engagement Skills Trainer (EST), Selectable Lightweight Attack Munition (SLAM), Handheld Standoff Mine Detection System (AN/PSS-14), ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with our high standards and applicable manufacturer’s maintenance manuals. This role plays a critical part in facilitating immersive, realistic training scenarios for military units, enhancing their operational readiness and tactical proficiency.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Performs simple or routine tasks, troubleshooting, replacing, and repairing various military simulator components following detailed instructions, ensuring all components function correctly and efficiently during training sessions.
  • Conduct pre- and post-training equipment checks

· Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

· Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment down to the component level.

  • Employment of a variety of specialized test equipment, complex electronic schematics, and diagrams in conducting fault isolation.
  • Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history, ensuring corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the AWARE Management Information System (MIS).

· Make recommendations to improve circuitry or installation specifications.

  • Ensure all maintenance is performed in line with technical specifications and documentation.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during training exercises, ensuring a seamless integration of virtual technologies with real-world tactics.

Qualifications:

· Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related technical field; or equivalent military or professional training in a related field.

· ETA Basic Electronics Certification is in accordance with the ISO 17024 standard.

· Valid US issued Driver’s License.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in operating simulation systems, military training, or a related technical role.

· In-depth knowledge of military tactics and operations, particularly in Infantry, Armor, and Aviation.

· Experience using Oscilloscopes, DMM, Function Generators, Power Supplies, and various hand tools.

· Strong technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electronic systems.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with both technical teams and military personnel.

· Flexibility to work varied hours in a dynamic training environment, including possible weekends and holidays as training schedules demand.

Working condition:

· Indoors in varying light conditions

· Exposure to bright flashes of light.

· Noise between 50db to 165db.

· Some travel required

Physical Requirements:

· Do repetitive tasks.

· Requires frequently standing, walking, and sitting.

· Required to stoop under or squat, kneeling, and crouching.

· Able to reach with your hands and arms, talk, and hear.

· Lifting: frequently lift and move up to 35lbs.

· Vision: required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
