Key Responsibilities
- Organize and update the company’s tax calendar
- Prepare monthly and quarterly state sales tax returns
- Prepare property and other tax returns
- Assist in filling annual Federal and State Income tax returns for US
- Assist in filling annual Federal and Provincial Income tax returns for Canada
- Prepare tax payments
- Perform Month-end tax close duties
- Monitor and resolve various tax notices
- Enforce tax compliance to reduce future tax exposure
- Identify tax savings and recommend tax strategies that maximize that goal
- Keep on top of tax trends and changes related to taxes
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Any other tasks as assigned by management
- BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is preferred
- 3 years as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst or Tax Preparer
- Goal oriented
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining high quality and a focus on detail
- Computer literacy (MS Excel in particular)
- Strong numeracy skills
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
