Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructor to teach the game of chess to young students.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and will be responsible for educating elementary and/or middle school students about the fundamentals of chess. This role requires effective classroom management skills and the ability to communicate concepts clearly to ensure student understanding and engagement.
Duties
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, maintaining a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
- Educate students in accordance with curriculum standards, utilizing various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their academic and personal growth.
- Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who require additional assistance
Requirements
- Knows how to play chess.
- A passion for chess, education, and a commitment to student success.
- Strong verbal communication skills, to effectively convey information.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports all learners.
- Experience in tutoring or providing group instruction is a plus.
