What does the Gardening School Team do and why join?
The Gardening School Team at Cheekwood focuses on integrating outdoor gardening into a classroom format where individuals learn about plant growth, sustainability, and eco-friendly practices.
What will you be doing?
This role will involve managing the gardening school’s schedule, coordinating instructors, managing class registration, and developing new programs. This candidate will also maintain relationships with local instructors and ensure the website is current while also keeping up to date on gardening trends and programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of The Cheekwood Gardening School, including but not limited to scheduling classes and instructors, benchmarking like organizations, recruiting and assessing instructors, working with marketing to share information about the school, keeping the website up to date, and planning long-term for growth.
- Create and maintain relationships with area instructors.
- Oversee class registration and manage waitlists.
- Lead preparation for classes to include setup and material prep.
- Propose and implement new programming to elevate The Cheekwood Gardening School
- Knowledgeable about the types of programming offered by like institutions.
- Maintain all Gardening School-related information on the website to ensure information published is always up to date.
- Ensure the overall schedule is current to prevent conflicts.
