What does the Cheekwood Retail Team do?
At Cheekwood, the retail team oversees the operations of two gift shops on the property. The Garden Gift Shop sells gardening tools, décor, and children's items. The Mansion Gift Shop is located inside the Historic Mansion & Museum, selling jewelry, art, and gift items. The shops are open 9am-4pm. During Holiday Lights, (mid-November-first week in January) we open our Holiday Shop which is a high-volume shop selling holiday merchandise. In addition to the shops being open from 9am-4pm, they are open from 5pm-10pm during Holiday Lights.
What will you be doing?
As a Cheekwood representative, you'll provide friendly customer service, keep the store organized, handle transactions, and track sales to achieve financial targets.

Responsibilities
- Greeting the visitors as a Cheekwood representative. Always offering excellent customer service with a genuinely friendly attitude while providing information and assistance to customers.
- Opening/closing procedures within the Gift Shops.
- Maintaining a neat and organized store and stockroom.
- Unpacking, pricing, and stocking merchandise within the store standards and practices.
- Operating Point of Sale computer system – completing sales, returns and other transactions.
- Responsible for tracking both individual and store sales, while aiming to meet daily, weekly, and monthly financial goals.
- Customer Service experience required. Retail experience preferred.
- Pleasant service-oriented demeanor and strong customer service skills.
- Ability to remain productive and motivated while working alone.
- Flexible schedule - must have the availability to work 16-28 hours each week and ability to work nights & weekends.
- Willing to walk/stand for long periods.
- Membership & Discounts: As an employee, you receive a Cheekwood membership, which entitles you to unlimited admission during regular Garden hours and a limited number of free tickets to special events. Members also receive discounts on classes, ticketed events, and purchases at the Gift Shop. Your Cheekwood membership also include reciprocal admission for named members to more than 300 gardens though the American Horticultural Society.
