Overview:
We are a busy family in Soldotna, AK seeking a reliable and flexible part-time Personal Assistant/Nanny to assist with various household tasks and provide 1:1 care for our 4-month-old infant. The position will also involve travel within the state of Alaska for several days at a time, making it essential for the candidate to be comfortable traveling by plane and boat. The role will involve both working alongside the parents and providing independent care for the infant. A family-friendly, supportive environment is our priority, and we’re looking for someone to become a trusted member of our family.
Key Responsibilities:
Infant Care:
Provide 1:1 care for our 4-month-old infant, ensuring their comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.
Organize and supervise daily activities and educational projects for the infant’s development.
Maintain the infant’s personal hygiene and care routines (e.g., feeding, diapering, naps).
Household Support:
Laundry and folding clothes.
Light cooking and meal preparation.
Washing dishes and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Grocery shopping and ensuring household supplies are stocked.
Processing and checking the family’s mail.
Light cleaning tasks, including tidying up common areas.
Organizing household projects as needed.
Childcare Support (As the infant grows):
Prepare nutritious meals for the children.
Help maintain children’s living spaces clean and organized.
Transport children to and from scheduled activities and appointments.
Provide a safe and positive environment for the children to play and learn.
Collaborate with parents to create an educational schedule and assist in meeting each child's social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
Travel Requirements:
Travel within Alaska (by plane and boat) for several days.
Have or be willing to get a U.S. passport.
Flexibility in scheduling and availability due to the irregular nature of the family’s needs.
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be/or willing to be INFANT CPR certified
Ability to pass a background check.
Ability to pass a drug test.
Comfortable traveling with the family by plane and boat.
Comfortable with overnight travel.
Previous experience caring for infants or young children.
A positive attitude, reliable, and flexible to the family’s needs.
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and environments.
Comfort with caring for a pug on the premises.
Schedule & Hours: 1-3 days a week depending on the week, with the potential to become full time.
Part-time position with daytime shifts. We have a full time nanny. This is supplemental help.
Irregular schedule, requiring flexibility and availability to work varying hours.
Travel is required as part of the role, including overnight stays for several days within Alaska.
Compensation:
Starting at $800 per week (for full time) before taxes (equivalent to $20/hr), DOE.
Additional long-term benefits to be discussed at the second interview.
