SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The primary focus of this position is to clean and maintain the interior and exterior of the Community Center and the exterior of the residential apartments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs at the CHEER Community Center and other CHEER facilities as needed.
- Set up and break down chairs and tables for events and meetings
- Sweep walkways, mow lawn, and shovel snow as necessary.
- Maintain grounds in clean and neat condition.
- Clean, and disinfect kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances. Restock restrooms with paper supplies
- Pick up debris and empty trash containers daily
- Dust and polish the furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other related duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum requirements for this position are:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years of janitorial experience is required
- Must maintain current Delaware Defensive Driving Certification.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Must possess both oral and written communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group situations to clients and other Agency employees.
REPORTING: This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance and Transportation Services Director.
PRIMARY WORK LOCATION: Most duties and functions will be outside of the CHEER locations. Local travel to other CHEER locations is
required to support programs and services as required in those locations.

WORK HOURS: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with 30-minute mid-day break. Extended work hours are periodically required to support programs and activities. Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (40 hrs./week)
