Job Description
Position summary: Responsible for machine preventative maintenance/changeovers, set-ups, and validations.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Ability to perform quality testing as needed
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to quality and the production supervisor
- Assist with product changeovers as needed
- Back up to maintenance technician as needed
- Clean heads
- Completion of all pertinent maintenance paperwork and/or electronic data entries on tablets.
- General knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- General maintenance skill
- Assist production team as needed; cover breaks and lunch
- Help with work instruction documentation
- Knowledge of heat-sealing process a plus
- Notify lead of needed extended repairs and/or spare parts
- Perform product changeovers, machine set-up as needed
- Perform validations and fix any issues
- Preventative machine maintenance
- Safety conscious
- Set-up barcode readers and cameras
- Report any potential food safety, legality, quality or food defense concerns to the production manager or quality personnel
- Follow all documented Good Manufacturing Practices
- Maintains product safety, legality, regulatory compliance and quality systems
- Must follow all company policies and procedures
- Must follow PPE procedures (Personal Protection Equipment)
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position (drug test may be required)

Physical demands and work environment:
- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls: reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job the employee is/or may be exposed to high noise levels that require hearing protection. Employee may also be required to wear safety glasses and/or safety gloves.
Qualifications
Qualifications required:
- High school/GED
- 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment with direct experience in machine maintenance
- Basic computer skills
- Good attitude; ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Good communication and organization skills
- Knowledge of heat-sealing process
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Quality and safety conscious
- Strong mechanical skills
