Job Description:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that food safety and quality assurance programs are properly implemented and maintained by following company, customer, and regulatory guidelines through auditing/inspection, product quality control, and data entry.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review all production paperwork for finished goods release.
- Complete and ensure all CCP and CQP checks are completed.
- Ensures production management is aware of deviations from requirements and coaches production employees on food safety and quality issues.
- Support pre-operational inspections.
- Monitors production staff’s adherence to GMP policies.
- Monitors production staff’s adherence in meeting product specifications.
- Monitors proper implementation of other Food Safety and Quality Programs by performing process checks, sample collection, and finished product inspection.
- Assists with trouble-shooting processing lines and provides solutions to operations that target manufacturing and food safety requirements.
- Initiate, log, and investigate quality holds.
- Monitor and ensure label compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Complete environmental monitoring collection.
- Supports a safe work environment.
- Enforce color code policy.
- Supports Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties assigned.
Hours & Classification:
The position would be classified as non - exempt employee. 1st shift. The hours would consist of 6:00 am to 4PM Monday through Friday. Weekends and Holidays as needed.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work in cold environment.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend for job functions.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Prior experience working in food manufacturing preferred.
