About the Role
Chefman is looking for a passionate and reliable Senior Firmware Engineer to support the production of the next generation of kitchen appliances. As a senior engineer, you will have the opportunity to participate in schematic design reviews, software architecture decisions, and apply Software Engineering best practices when it comes to developing automated test codes and procedures. You will collaborate closely with the Hardware Development Team and manufacturers to take products from concept to delivery. The integration between hardware and firmware is one of the most challenging yet rewarding moment in Product Development. The ability to fully test the hardware / firmware with the fixtures in the most time-efficient way for production is of paramount importance to be successful in this role.
Role and Responsibilities
Product Development:
- Execute the design and development of product firmware utilizing microcontrollers and RTOS.
- Drive the creation of PCB artwork, design, and schematics, overseeing fabrication, assembly, and testing procedures.
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX, Mechanical, and Industrial Design teams to ensure smooth integration.
- Establish and manage interfaces with vendors, factories, and external stakeholders for effective collaboration.
- Provide guidance in the development of user manuals, test procedures, and comprehensive project documentation.
- Implement rigorous unit testing and application testing protocols.
Technical Product Documentation Ownership:
- Assume responsibility for the technical aspects of the Marketing Requirements Document (MRD).
- Develop and update product specifications, Acceptance Test procedures (ATP), and user interface definitions.
- Support the Project Manager in updating and aintaining the project timeline.
- Systematically manage the technical components of the project folder information.
- Lead communication with vendors and factories, ensuring effective collaboration.
- Generate detailed reports of test results for both internal and external stakeholders.
Skills and Proficiencies:
- Proficient in microcontroller and RTOS-based firmware development using C language
- Expertise in using test equipment to troubleshoot PCB assembly. Strong understating on reading schematic and layout of PCB design.
- Effective communication and coordination with vendors and factories.
- Extensive experience in developing user manuals and comprehensive test procedures.
- Strong emphasis on meticulous project documentation and thorough unit/application testing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in translating marketing requirements into detailed technical specifications.
