Chelsea Building Products, an industry leader in extrusion manufacturing, compound function, and building product development has an immediate full-time opportunity for qualified Tool and Die Makers. We are searching for a positive individual who possesses strong teamwork skills, flexibility, a willingness to learn, strong multi-tasking skills, and the ability to work independently.
Job Responsibilities:
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify tools and dies, using machine tools and hand tools.
- Set up and operate drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts for assembly.
- Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools.
- Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; adjust as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous Tool Room experience
- Demonstrated skill and ability to manufacture tooling to blueprint specifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill to set up and operate all conventional tool room machinery
- Demonstrated expertise in assembling and troubleshooting a wide variety of complex mold tooling
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems
