The Chelsea Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) is a nonprofit organization established in 2019 that partners with residents, businesses, and community organizations to expand economic opportunity and improve the quality of life in the Chelsea Neighborhood of Atlantic City.
This full-time (40 hours per week) position will work in conjunction with the CEDC President, as the second person responsible for all aspects of the organization. Includes assisting with the following tasks: leading 10-12 employees; manage $1M annual budget; create and execute projects which strengthen community bonds, improve public safety and housing opportunities, support local businesses, and enhance career training, resident wellness, and recreation. Effectively lead team to activate plan strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES for the Vice President:
*Meet with business owners at their location to understand obstacles and needs.
*Plan, organize, lead monthly/bi-monthly meetings for the business community.
*Assist with permits, grant applications, funding opportunities and other tasks as requested by the business community.
*Create a directory of Chelsea businesses and Constant Contact group.
*Create an annual account of business metrics, including total number of operating businesses, gross sales, number of FT and PT employees.
*Connect businesses with opportunities, such as restaurant opportunities to participate in special events.
*Educate and advocate initiatives to policymakers, funders, and community leaders.
*Coordinate jobs and hiring events.
REQUIREMENTS for the Business Development /Community Advocate:
* Residents of Atlantic City will receive hiring preference.
* 5 years administrative, human resource, grant-writing and financial management skills experience.
* 5 years public speaking, government and interpersonal relations, and community collaboration experience.
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience.
* Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
* Excellent understanding of and a passion to see Atlantic City thrive.
* Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to drive Chelsea EDC vehicle.
Salary commensurate with experience.
