The Opportunity
Chelsea Piers Connecticut is looking for qualified individuals in the Stamford, CT area to join our Athletic Club Membership Sales Team! Our Membership Sales Advisors are responsible for maintaining and building Chelsea Piers’ member base through excellent customer service, strategized sales techniques, knowledge of our programs and facility, and a genuine passion for fitness and athletics. At Chelsea Piers, we invest in our employees’ professional growth. As part of our sales team, you will be expected to achieve monthly goals and develop professionally by attending annual sales and customer service trainings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Actively sell new memberships to potential clients and generate leads
- Adoption of relationship-based sales philosophy focused on information discovery
- Delivering superior customer service with an aim towards member retention
- Make daily lead follow-ups through email and phone calls
- Handle and assist with member inquiries, tours, sales, presentations and member events
- Complete new and existing member contracts and provide new member kits
- Mastery of all member opportunities within the club; connecting new members to areas of interest to set them up for success and long-term membership
- Assist with the research and preparation of corporate and private prospect lists/lead generation and other special projects, as needed
- Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the facility
Qualifications
- Strong interest and/or experience in the Fitness & Health Industry
- Four year degree preferred
- 1-2 years of sales experience with an upscale venue preferred, but not required (experience in fitness/healthcare sales is a plus)
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed
- Self-starter with a successful history of sales performance
- Organized, analytical and great problem solver
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and concepts
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to prospect both internal and external leads
- Strong interpersonal skills and great phone etiquette
Schedule: Full-Time, 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day (8 hour shift)
Compensation: $70,000-$90,000/ year expected (Base Commission)
