Role & Responsibilities
The responsibilities and duties described here are representative of those a Aquatics Lead Instructor must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.
Program Management:
- Manages Masters Swim Program, including:
- Oversee inquiry form, host try outs/interviews
- Lead at least 3 practices a week between locations
- Drive participation in program
- Manages group class program, including:
- Develops curriculum for introductory Swim Level classes and Water Works
- Collaborates with Group Fitness department on performance program and schedule changes
- Periodic auditing of swim classes
- Recruit and develop swim coaches for both group classes and personal training
- Manages swim staff (personal trainers and group fitness instrutors)
- Helps drive personal training sessions through strategy and staff management
- Conducts CPR trainings for CPf a minimum of 6x/year
- Maintain consistent, clear, effective, and positive communication with all Chelsea Piers Fitness members
Instruction:
- Serve as a lead aquatics instructor teaching at least 4 classes per week at the 2 New York City locations
- Develop a strong following across Chelsea Piers Fitness clubs through member
- Serve as lead substitute for all swim classes when necessary
- Ability to perform private swim sessions
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Lifeguard Certified
- Master Swim Certified
- Self-motivated/entrepreneurial spirit with an outgoing, diligent and affable disposition. Ability to adapt to change and a willingness to improve and evolve
- Superior customer service skills; excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills, including management of multiple projects and technologies; and a familiarity or willingness to learn Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Exerp
- High-energy, passionate, articulate and personable.
- Leadership skills and team management experience, including an ability to motivate and educate others
- CPR certified
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
