About the Opportunity:
Chelsea Piers is seeking to hire an Events Operations Associate to join our growing Events team at Field House Brooklyn. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, customer service, and operational aspects of birthday party and event management, ensuring accuracy of event details and the flawless execution and event logistics. This role reports to the Assistant General Manager and works closely with all teams.
As the Events Operations Associate, you will be expected to:
- Develop and execute accurate contracts for over 30 birthdays per weekend and for school/corporate events
- Collect event details from patrons in a timely, professional and organized manner via phone, email, and in-person interactions
- Be the point person for all questions from confirmed event patrons
- Collaborate with event sales, housekeeping, and sports managers efficiently to ensure successful event execution
- Execute accurate internal party and event schedules, coordinate staffing assignments, and distribute schedules to Field House management on a weekly basis
- Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of parties and events (as needed)
- Create and enhance relationships between Field House birthday/school/ corporate event patrons and Chelsea Piers Field House Brooklyn
- Attend and actively participate in Field House Event weekly meetings
- Deliver excellent customer satisfaction
- Perform other business-related duties as assigned by the AGM and General Manager

Qualifications

- Ability to think creatively
- Ability to handle customer needs and staff schedule changes
- Ability to remain calm in various time-sensitive situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to complete SafeSport training (digitally)
- Ability to carry 30 pounds up or down a flight of stairs and be on your feet for long periods of time
