Position Qualifications / Requirements
- College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and / or 5 or more years of equivalent work experience.
- Working technical knowledge of server hardware, including IBM Power systems.
- Excellent technical knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
- In-depth experience configuring and supporting Linux virtualization technologies that include IBM PowerVM and VMware.
- Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
- Working technical knowledge of scripting code using Perl, CGI, and C, shell, scripting tools.
- Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment, including SCSI, RAID, and I / O topology.
- General knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS, as well as Active Directory / Global Catalogue.
- Business process and reengineering experience, as well as an understanding of the relationship between processes and policies.
- Experience in clustering and / or high availability solutions that include IBM PowerHA.
- Hands-on hardware and OS troubleshooting experience.
