QA Team Lead_Texas_Only on W2_No 1099/C2C

Seeking a software test manager to develop and oversee the pre-deployment testing process for our new state of the art flight planning system. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, planning, documenting, and executing test plans, as well as reporting and resolution of issues found during testing. Primary responsibility is to ensure the quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance of the flight planning system.

The test manager will work with multiple teams including Development, Product, end users and stakeholders, corporate compliance and safety. The test manager will also work with user groups and stakeholders to participate in usability and user acceptance testing.

Key Responsibilities Of a Software Test Manager Include

• Developing test strategy:
  
  

Creating a comprehensive testing plan that outlines the testing approach, scope, and priorities for the project.

• Leading the pre-deployment testing initiative:
  
  

Organizing all team members involved in the testing process, assigning tasks, and providing guidance on test execution.

• Test plan creation:
  
  

Designing detailed test plans including test cases, test environments, and test schedules.

• Defect management:
  
  

Tracking and prioritizing identified defects, ensuring they are effectively communicated to the development team and resolved.

• Reporting and communication:
  
  

Providing regular updates on testing progress, identifying risks, and communicating test results to stakeholders.

• Resource allocation:
  
  

Organizing testing resources, including tools, environments, and personnel.

• Quality assurance:
  
  

Implementing quality standards and best practices throughout the testing process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a software test manager or lead.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Certifications in Quality Assurance or Project Management.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience with safety critical software systems and DO-178B/C software testing standards.
