Roku/BrightScript Developer
Role Responsibilities:
- This person will be performing Front-end, UI-centric development
- Day-to-day will be hands-on coding developing new UI features for Spectrum Video Streaming applications
- Working on rich and usable client app experiences
- Developing new features to improve UI/UX experience
- Working with Roku to vet new hardware, firmware, and certification requirements
- Handling software updates to align with Roku OS changes
- Monitoring app performance and resolving any issues
- Providing technical expertise in scripting languages with a focus on front-end design and application performance
Experience and Skills required:
- Candidate should have 5 years' experience as a UI/Front-end Engineer
- Experience with the Roku platform and BrightScript language OR other connected TV devices like SamsungTV, LGTV, FireTV, Xbox, etc.
- Framework: Scenegraph (Roku specific)
Familiarity with video encoding and streaming formats
Ability to debug, optimize, and enhance existing Roku applications
Knowledge of web services and API integrations
Proficiency in front-end and UX design principles
Candidate is a clear and respectful communicator and brings positive energy to the team
Skills considered a Plus
- .NET MVC with C#
- Semantic HTML
- NPM, Gulp, Continuous Integration Tools
- Web Site Security Protocols
- Worked with development tools such as JavaScript, DevOps, Jenkins, and AWS
