Cheltenham School District announces the following extra duty-extra pay position is available for the 2025-2026 school-year, at Cheltenham High School:
Football - Head Coach
Reports to: Athletic Director
Job Description
1. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach with the development,
implementation, and monitoring of the athletic program for the assigned sport.
2. Assist the Head Coach with the supervision of participants of the assigned sport during
program related activities.
3. The Assistant Coach will serve as a positive role model to the student athletes and
represents the Cheltenham School district in a well-respected manner.
4. The Assistant Coach must demonstrate an ability to work cooperatively and
enthusiastically with the entire school community and demonstrate strong interpersonal
skills.
Qualifications
- Must have extensive knowledge of the sport and the ability to effectively teach and communicate fundamental skills.
- Must have at least 2 - 4 years of coaching experience working with children and/or adolescents; coaching at the high school level preferred.
- A strong understanding of the sport’s theory and practice is required; experience as a player or coach at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
- Must demonstrate the personal qualities necessary to foster sportsmanship and support student-athlete success in a positive and encouraging environment.
- The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills, along with a proven ability to build relationships with student-athletes, parents, staff, and school administration.
