Cheltenham School District announces the following support staff positions for the 2023-2024 school year.
PARAEDUCATOR
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required (required to obtain the PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate within the first year of employment)
or
- Associates degree or higher OR completion of two (2) years of post-secondary education
Overview:
The paraeducator attends to the needs of the assigned student or students and provides support to the teachers. The duties include but are not limited to providing academic support to the student or students to facilitate behavioral management and instruction; assisting classroom teachers when needed; collecting student data; accompanying students on community trips; and maintaining strict confidentiality with respect to information concerning students.
