Working under the direction of the Traffic Signal and Street Light Superintendent, the Traffic Signal and Lighting Technician 2 will serve as a group leader in the Traffic Signal and Street Light Division of the Public Works Department. This is very skilled electrical work involving the installation and maintenance of Township-owned street lights and traffic signals. Work involves the installation, maintenance and repair of traffic control equipment and overhead street lighting. Duties include working with 120/240 volt secondary electrical lines, installing overhead lighting from a bucket truck, re-lamping traffic signals and related maintenance work. This position is responsible for making day-to-day journey level decisions. The employee is required to have considerable knowledge, skill and ability in electrical work including working with and around high voltage wires and the maintenance and installation of complex electronic and mechanical traffic signals.
