What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Systems Project Manager position at Chemco Systems/Pittsburgh Tank?
Chemco Systems is seeking a motivated project manager, preferably with a strong mechanical background, who wants to gain experience in industrial mechanical and electrical systems. We are looking for a high motivated individual who is enthusiastic about the work they do and communicates well in a team environment.
Position will expand to include the management of multiple projects that are at various stages of development.
Chemco Systems is located in Pittsburgh, PA and specializes in the design and manufacturing of bulk chemical storage handling and feed systems municipal water treatment plants and industrial air & water pollution treatment. These systems require precise, automated controls through the use of system PLCs.
Responsibilities
- Design, control, and implement control systems for municipal & industrial instrumentation and controls.
- Working with the mechanical project manager to coordinate and deliver systems on time. This involves managing the electrical scope for a project and coordinating with the mechanical side.
- Collaborating with customers, engineers, and technicians to develop/improve system processes for potential or existing projects.
- Ensure that designed systems and installations are in line with customer specifications and safety standards.
- Assist the Sales team with evaluating future projects to determine electrical scope of supply and provide budgetary pricing.
- Provide technical consultation throughout lifecycle of delivered systems ensure effectiveness of PLC control systems.
Requirements/Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or has technical experience/comparable knowledge in the design and implementation of mechanical systems.
- Experience through an internship or Co-Op with mechanical or electrical systems
- Background in the design/use of PLCs, control panels, and instrumentation is a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC/HMI hardware or software; MicroStation/AutoCAD is a plus
- Understanding of mechanical engineering codes and safety standards.
- Problem-solving abilities.
- Occasional travel may be required to evaluate the scope of supply for a project and to meet with Customer/Design Engineer to review scope and installation of system.
- Occasional travel may be required to provide commissioning or service for systems to be brought online or to troubleshoot.

Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
