POSITION SUMMARY

This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the year and reviewed based on department need. This recruitment is for instructors who will serve our Woodburn Center in Woodburn, OR, and / or Yamhill Valley Campus in McMinnville, OR and / or Polk Center in Dallas, OR and / or our Salem Campus in Salem, OR.

Instruction :

Teaches classes as assigned, following current approved course outlines

Meets during scheduled class times

Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes / labs according to program expectations

Provides students with class syllabi

Delivers course content using appropriate methods for student needs and program curriculum

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Your application will be scored based on the minimum qualifications, core competencies, and preferred qualifications. Minimum Qualifications :

Master's degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or an equivalent discipline (from an accredited institution) with at least 12 graduate credit hours in composition and rhetoric.

Master's Degree in a related discipline with 24 graduate credit hours in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or related relevant coursework (from an accredited institution) with at least 12 graduate credit hours in composition and rhetoric.

Note : An MAT or other education degree is not considered an equivalent or related discipline. However, an MFA in a writing field is considered an equivalent discipline.

Core Competencies :

Bicultural / multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others

Preferred Qualifications :

Two years teaching experience, preferably at a community college, college, or university.

Prior experience teaching college level composition course.

English / Spanish Bilingual

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and / or weekends

All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college.

Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire

Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment.

Recently hired faculty are expected to participate in a new faculty orientation program

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary requirements are met.
