About the opportunity: Buyer/Procurer
We are currently seeking a full-time Buyer/Procurer in our Louisville, KY office to help us achieve our company mission. This person will be part of the Procurement team which is responsible for obtaining goods and services to ensure that our projects have the materials needed to be successful. C&I is an employee-owned, full-service engineering design firm providing engineering/design/project management and procurement services to various clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Processes Requisitions for equipment, researches products, clarifies specifications, documents competitive bidding, and inputs purchase orders.
- Negotiates favorable or required commercial terms and conditions into purchase orders.
- Assists in the preparation of effort hour estimates for potential or new projects and manages the execution of a project’s procurement scope of work.
- Follows up back orders, expedites delivery of orders, and makes special delivery arrangements.
- Communicates to the project team the expected delivery date of orders.
- The Buyer monitors project schedules and expedites the delivery of vendor data and equipment to support scheduled dates.
- Updates the project team on any potential delivery problems.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product information.
- Determines methods of procurement, such as direct purchase or competitive bid.
- Prepares purchase orders and bid requests.
- Reviews proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- The Buyer maintains manual and computerized procurement documents.
- Places orders for products by utilizing a computer terminal or other order entry device.
Minimum requirements:
- Four-year Degree from a college or technical school and at least ten years or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ten years of experience in procurement.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Understanding of engineering terminology.
- PMP and ISM certifications are preferred.
Other Preferred Competencies:
- Proficient in providing strong customer service to clients and project teams.
- Communicating services to clients and project teams is essential.
- Must be able to communicate project information to necessary parties.

Requirements:Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
