Maintenance Technician

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

This is an entry level job. Maintenance focuses on fundamental tasks that ensure industrial operations continue uninterrupted. It focuses on routine check-ups to prevent more significant issues. The Maintenance Technician position will provide support to maintenance and production departments to ensure less downtime.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Highschool diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to learn on the job.
• Possess a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Possess good common sense trouble shooting skills.
• Ideally would have good computer skills.
• Motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
• Able to effectively communicate and get along with all members of a team.
• Must be mathematically competent with dimensions and fractions.

JOB DUTIES:

The Maintenance Technician is expected to master the following skills before moving onto Level 2. Must demonstrate knowledge of:

• Wrenches, chisels and hammers.
• Pliers, saws, and pipe cutting tools.
• Pipe threading equipment.
• Cordless and pneumatic tools.
• Lock Out Tag Out and other safety practices.

Daily Duties:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on mixers, pumps and other production equipment.
• Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
• Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to perform physical job duties which may include, but not limited to, lifting up to 50 lbs., kneeling or standing for long periods of time, crawling, climbing, bending, and twisting.
• Ability to work in tight spaces
• Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.
• Ability to work in elevated areas that could exceed 30 feet from ground level
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• Exposure to chemicals: protective clothing required at times.
• Exposure to fumes: respiratory protection required at times.
• Work with others or alone
• Work overtime as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
