What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hazmat Driver position at Chemicals Incorporated?
In addition to standard CDL driver responsibilities, HAZMAT drivers have a separate set of responsibilities as the materials they haul can be a danger to themselves along with others and even the environment. This will be based out of Bay City, Texas Plant.
Duties include
- Driver facilitates the transport of dangerous materials like flammable liquids, nuclear waste and explosives.
- Employers require hazmat drivers to have at least a high school diploma, a commercial driver 's license and training in hazardous materials or tank vehicles.
- When not driving will be working in the plant to assist other departments with warehouse, shipping, and maintenance
Requirements HAZARDOUS MATERIALS CARRIER RESPONSIBILITY
- CDL / HAZMAT ENDORSEMENT
- Proof of Identity (US passport, birth certificate)
- Transportation Workers Identification Certificate (TWIC)
- Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Driver's Employment Application
- State Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) at time of hire
- Driver's Road Test
- Verification of past Employment (must have verifiable contact information)
- Annual MVR
- Annual list of Violations
- Clear Background Check
- HAZMAT Employee must receive training and certification that includes general awareness, function-specific, safety, security awareness, and in-depth security training if required.
