Job Summary
As the Quality Management Systems Engineer, you will be a key representative of CED’s Quality Management System (QMS), collaborating across the organization to maintain and enhance compliance with statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements. You will lead internal and external audits, drive continuous improvement, and support a culture of quality throughout CED.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Compliance: Oversee compliance with CED’s QMS to statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Audit Management: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, including those from registrars and customers.
- Documentation & Review: Develop, revise, and approve QMS documentation to align with evolving requirements.
- Contract Review: Support the review of customer contracts, engineering, and manufacturing specifications to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Internal Audits: Lead and execute internal QMS audits, preparing reports and resolving findings.
- Ensure Compliance: Manage corrective action processes, including root cause analysis and verification of effectiveness.
- Continuous : Promote a culture of prevention and continual improvement across CED.
- Customer Interaction: Engage with external auditors, customer quality representatives, and regulatory agencies.
- Training & Support: Provide guidance on AS9100, ISO 9001, and other industry standards to internal teams.
- Problem Solving: Utilize structured techniques such as Ishikawa, 5W, and Is-Is Not for effective problem resolution.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical field. (Engineer Technology Degrees Wil Be Considered)
- Experience:
- 3 years of QMS experience in the aerospace, space, or defense industries.
- 7 years in a regulated environment (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Certifications: Certified Auditor in AS9100 or equivalent.
- Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, D365), excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational skills.
- Other: Eligibility to handle explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003.
- 5 years in a quality function (e.g., inspection, control, systems).
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) by ASQ or SAE.
- Experience with defense contractors (e.g., Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, ULA, etc.).
- Familiarity with NADCAP standards and CFR Title 14 Part 145 regulations.
- Demonstrable knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
