Our client is a leading global manufacturer of polymer resins, colorants and additives used in composite material manufacturing. They require an experienced Production Supervisor for their manufacturing plant in northwest Indiana. This is a full-time, on-site role. Responsibilities
- Lead all efforts of the high-performance resin manufacturing team, across multiple shifts while monitoring operating efficiencies and ensuring adherence to the production schedule.
- Set goals productivity, quality, safety and housekeeping and guide the team efforts to achieve these objectives.
- Promote continuous improvement for the production area.
- Recruit, hire, train and develop team members.
- Coach the Production Scheduler to effectively use manpower, inventory control manufacturing unit time.
- Collaborate effectively with Plant Engineers, Technical Leadership, Purchasing and other internal functions to achieve production and business objectives.
- Create and maintain safety policies for the production area. Monitor compliance with corporate safety and environmental policies.
- Train teams in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Maintain ISO work instructions and compliance.
- Report team activities to Plant Manager and site leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (strongly preferred), Science or Business Management.
- At least 5 years of industrial manufacturing supervisory experience. Previous experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (PSM) highly desirable.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems.
- Union workforce experience highly desirable.
- Ability to coach, lead and train hourly production team members.
