JOB DESCRIPTION :
Our Corporate Headquarters in Dayton, OH is looking for a Controls Engineer.
This position requires the ability to read and write electrical drawings and BOMs for in-house equipment builds, design mechanical and electrical equipment component drawings, and purchase electrical components while tracking and logging costs per job.
Responsibilities also include panel builds and electrical component assembly, programming of PLCs and HMIs, equipment PLC, HMI, and sensor debug and optimization, and providing recommended electrical spare parts lists. The candidate will assist with programming prototype build equipment and develop in-house manufacturing capabilities when time permits. Documentation of work, organization of files, and information for archives are also key components of the role.
REQUIREMENTS :
An associate or engineering degree in applicable controls, electrical, mechanical, and / or IT-based discipline, along with 2-3 years of experience programming industrial automation and / or custom assembly equipment, is required. Proficiency in PLC ladder logic, HMI design / development, MSSQL, and VBA is necessary. The candidate should also be capable of producing, interpreting, and revising electrical drawings using AutoCAD and be willing to travel. Familiarity with LOTO and risk assessments, plant floor experience as a controls engineer, and knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems are preferred.
