SCOPE OF POSITION

The purpose of the role is to effectively lead the demand planning work process across Chemtrade, providing leadership and clarity across functions within the business and to act as the key linkage point to translate demand requirements to the Sales & Operations work process. Additionally, the role will translate the demand into future requirements for items such as raw materials and logistics requirements (truck load count by ship site) to support Chemtrade’s business operations to ensure logistics carriers deployed as efficiently and effectively as possible to achieve both our lowest possible cost options while achieving acceptable service levels to our customers.  To do this the incumbent will be required to work with the sales, business, finance and supply chain teams.   

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Demand Planning Process• Short term/2023 – participate as key member of demand planning uplift project, uplifting the demand planning work process, implementation of SAP IBP statistical forecasting, ensuring roles & responsibilities are clear and ensuring a one-number system where finance and business operations are aligned from a demand/sales perspective • Short term/2023 – establish mechanisms to translate newly developed statistical forecasting outputs into raw material and carrier forecasts at a level that will allow improvements in business operations (business/region/plant level as required)• Lead and facilitate demand review meetings, with focus on exceptions and significant changes over the entire S&OP horizon. • Provide tools, coaching, system expertise, and analysis (including reports to enable comparison of business performance vs. previous forecast and plans) to commercial organization to improve sales forecasts • Assist Sales/Marketing in documenting demand assumptions in support of the forecasts• Review forecast accuracy metrics/conduct RCIs as needed to ensure continuous improvement in forecasts.• Ensure volume forecasts are updated in time for key dates in support of S&OP process • Challenge Sales/Marketing on their inputs to ensure the most realistic plan is passed on to supply chain and finance. • For new product introductions, ensure products are set up and forecasts are developed for the S&OP horizon • Ensure upsides/downsides are being documented Lead Demand Review Meetings • Prepare demand data and forecast accuracy metrics, lead meetings, provide follow-up. • Work closely with commercial leadership formalize and articulate demand assumptions and performance. • Work closely with Supply Chain team in preparation for the Pre-S&OP to ensure appropriate representation, input, and participation during this meeting.

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management with 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field with 10 years of experience in Supply Chain
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in S&OP, specifically demand planning.
  • Experience in Chemical Industry is preferred
  • Previous experience of ERP with SAP (MM and PP modules) is preferred.
  • Self-starter who can demonstrate a high level of energy and urgency
  • Training and/or experience in either six sigma or lean manufacturing processes and experience with safety awareness/leadership would be desirable
  • Must have strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Must be strong collaborator – work seamlessly across functions
  • Ability to prioritize issues is essential
  • Excellent data analysis and Excel skills required

 

The US base salary range for this position is $77,000 - 96,000 bonus benefits.  Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.   The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position.   Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   More specific salary range for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.  Please note that the compensation details listed in the US roles postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, benefits, pension contributions or additional incentives.
