General Description
The Account Reconciliation Collection Specialist researches and reconciles complex corporate customer accounts, monitors the accounts, including managing collection of past due balances. liaises with customers and other departments to resolve customer account issues and negotiate terms of settlement on overdue accounts. The successful candidate is an individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying established standards; knowledge based acquired from several years of experience that works independently and may support or help train others.

An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $58,000 - $63,000 USD per year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researches and reconciles customer accounts by gathering data and obtaining supporting documentation from various systems and sources.
- Work cross-functionally with other departments and with customers to identify out-of-balance conditions and resolve reconciling items.
- Recommend process improvements to eliminate/decrease out-of-balance conditions and reconciling items.
- Participates in ongoing cleanup of existing customer accounts and maintain a steady state.
- Responsible for developing relationships to facilitate the collections of accounts receivable and resolving internal/external issues preventing timely payment.
- Handles customer disputes to resolution and documents root cause.
- Resolves payment discrepancies; respond to invoice inquiries, proof of delivery and statement requests.
- Reviews purchase orders, contracts, and any other agreements to determine proper invoice and account set up.
- Make decisions on escalations and collectability of accounts; recommend write-offs or legal actions as warranted.
- Actively participate and communicate in team-based work group.
- Customer oriented and professional attitude
- Experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office products, and data analysis tools.
- Apply basic accounting principles in the interpretation of customer financial statements with the ability to research and reconcile customer accounts.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills, and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least five to seven years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting and/or bookkeeping
- ERP experience preferred
- Constantly required to sit and occasionally required to walk, stand, climb (includes stairs), balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell
- Constantly using hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards.
- Routinely required to reach with hands and arms, squat, turn/twist, or reach, lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
