The Chenango County Department of Social Services is soliciting applications for Caseworkers. Duties involve providing case management services to clients in either the Foster Care, Child Protective Services, Employment, or Adult Services Unit. To qualify candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree. The positions are Full-Time and include a full benefits package. The hourly start rate for 2024 hire rate is $25.81.
NO civil service examination required for permanent appointment!
Position status: Non-Competitive for the duration of the NY HELPS Program - Local.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree.

If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Special Requirement:
At time of appointment and continuing throughout employment, a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle, and a driving record acceptable to the County’s insurance carrier.
NOTES: Pre-Employment Screenings:
(1) In accordance with Section 424-a of the Social Services Law candidates who are actively being considered for employment will be required to complete a release form that will be submitted to the State Central Register for Child Abuse to determine whether or not he or she has been the subject of an indicated report of child abuse or maltreatment.
(2) In accordance with Section 495 of the Social Services Law candidates who are actively being considered for employment will be required to consent to all pre-employment screening requirements established by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs to determine suitability for employment. This will include, but may not be limited to, a check of the Vulnerable Persons’ Central Register.
