Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Lease Operator to join our team in West Texas and/or Southeast New Mexico. The Lease Operator will be responsible for monitoring and optimizing daily production operations, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently in remote field locations while maintaining a strong commitment to operational excellence and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and optimize oil and gas well production, ensuring efficient operation of tank batteries, separators, pumps, and related equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment, including artificial lift systems, valves, meters, and pipelines.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot company-owned and rental compressors, pumping units, and other production equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Gauge tanks for crude oil and water transfers or sales, ensuring accurate measurements.
- Accurately record daily production data and report irregularities to supervisors.
- Conduct daily well-site inspections, identifying and resolving potential mechanical issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with state and federal environmental and safety regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of produced fluids and chemicals.
- Operate and interpret SCADA systems and remote monitoring technologies to track and optimize production performance.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and field personnel regarding production trends, equipment repairs, and operational improvements.
- Respond promptly to call-outs and emergency situations, such as spills, leaks, or equipment failures, to minimize downtime and safety risks.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and safety compliance records.
- Follow all company policies and procedures and demonstrate a commitment to being a Safety Leader at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 1 years of experience in oil & gas lease operations is preferred, but training may be provided for highly motivated candidates.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas production equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with artificial lift systems, compression, and flow measurement.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, BLM, state-specific requirements).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work independently in remote field locations under varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
Work Conditions:
- Outdoor fieldwork in harsh weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, and dust).
- Frequent driving between well sites; company vehicle may be provided.
- On-call availability for emergency response and after-hours operations.
Schedule:
- Typical work schedule: 8 days on / 6 days off, 10-12 hour shifts (subject to change based on operational needs).
- On-call rotation is required for after-hours call-outs and emergency responses.
- Overtime may be required depending on workload and field conditions.
