The Light Truck Driver will drive a truck (less than 1½ tons) to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or works between various types of establishments.
Responsibilities
- Operate pickup, utility, and stake body trucks under 1 1/2 tons to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers to and from various locations within Government reservations and also on public highways and roads in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
- Load or unload truck with or without helpers.
- Make minor mechanical repairs and keep truck in good working order.
- Carry materials and supplies, building simple objects and forms, and perform necessary heavy manual labor associated with the activity requiring the higher skilled levels.
- Will use a variety of hand tools common to manual labor such as picks, shovels, tamps, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, rakes, and brooms.
- Will clean equipment, buildings, recreation facilities, structures, and grounds.
- Maintain and repairs chain link and barbed wire fencing.
- Ensure work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management.
- Support the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.
- This position has been designated as Mission Critical. Mission Critical personnel are defined as those required to meet the Installation’s safety (including inclement weather) and security needs during lockdown conditions.
- This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements.
- Operate all equipment in accordance with EM 385-1-1.
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid state driver license or commercially licensed (CDL).
- Minimum three (3) years related work experience, preferred.
- Ability to provide a favorable motor vehicle report and background check.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to work independently using sound judgment.
- Ability to perform tasks normally associated with vehicle operations.
- Ability to operate heavy trucks in a reliable manner with public safety in mind.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
