The Warehouse Specialist, ASP performs a variety of warehousing duties which require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
Responsibilities
- Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
- Route materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Rearrange and taking inventory of stored materials; examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage
- Remove material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
- Maintain equipment used on a daily basis and cleans work areas to maintain a safe work environment.
- Ensure that all tasks are performed safely.
- Wear safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED
- Completed training for Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 89B20/30, Ammunition Specialist or have equivalent training.
- Minimum 10 years ammunition experience in the grade of E-5 to E-6.
- Possess and maintain a valid state-issued Driver's license
- Possess and maintain the following munitions handling certifications:
- Arnrno-45 Intro to Ammunition
- Arnrno-68 Military Munitions Rule
- Arnrno-64 Class V Issue Turn-In and Residue Processing
- Arnmo-67 Hazardous Familiarization and Safety Transportation
- Ability to obtain the OJT AMMO-62
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines
- Understanding of the needs of the organization serviced
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary
- Ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines
- Knowledge of the Army Supply Systems outlined in AR 710-2, DA Pamphlet 710-2-1 and AR 19-11.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee may use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. the employee must work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
