Responsibilities
- This is a temporary role - full-time for 6-12 weeks starting in May/June 2025.**

Responsibilities
- Maintain general BSL-2 lab operations, including management of critical laboratory supplies/reagents, routine assessment, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and preparing and maintaining the laboratory for inspections (such as CLIA, and CDC biosafety.)
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, contamination control monitoring, coordinating with facilities maintenance teams, Biosafety Officer, and laboratory teams and team leads to ensure that facilities and equipment are in good working order, including scheduling and coordinating preventive maintenance and repair visits.
- Implement laboratory Quality Management System in the BioDefense Research and Development (BDRD) laboratories.
- Contribute to an investigation of new approaches to replace existing systems of laboratory maintenance (including equipment monitoring) to improve work efficiencies in operations and to comply with the Quality Management System and other laboratory standards, including evaluating remote laboratory equipment temperature monitoring.
- Contribute to a verification study of a new equipment temperature monitoring system compared to conventional (non-automated) thermometer measurements.
- Streamline and improve processes for any of the above tasks Other duties as assigned
- Prior CDC experience required.
- Must be currently or previously CDC badged.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of two (2) years of lab experience
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Detail Orientated
- Able to work well as part of a team, as well as independently
- Able to take on new initiatives.
