Summary
- The Physical Security Specialist supports the Physical Security program to include managing access control and intrusion control systems.
- Provide content/input to Physical Security Plans, Security Master Plans, and assigned external planning efforts.
- Determine, in coordination with Personnel Security and others as appropriate, personnel suitability.
- Responsible for safeguarding all USG equipment, information, and property provided.
- Must be able to build and maintain electronic database using Microsoft Office platform and/or any legacy systems.
- Must be certified to operate the LENEL access control system within sixty (60) days of contract award and any legacy systems to follow on to perform the same functional requirements.
- Provide daily status reports and deficiencies or issues to the Security Manager.
- Assist Security Manager in identifying and analyzing trends in security violations and other security lapses.
- Support in the management of Command Visitor’s Program and/or major exercises or events.
- Participate in the planning and conduct of personnel and physical security staff assistance visits, surveys and inspections.
- Provide database administration and management support for all collateral containers, X-09/10 locks and any legacy systems to follow on to perform the same functional requirements.
- Operate disintegrator, or any other designated equipment for the destruction of classified material and perform operator-level maintenance of the disintegrator/equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ensure classified and controlled unclassified information is properly marked for destruction IAW applicable regulations and procedures. Destroy up to and including SCI level material.
- Remove shred particles and other destruction waste by-products from the Media Destruction Facility to trash containers located within the headquarters building.
- Assist Security Manager in preparing for security staff visits, surveys, or inspections of physical and personnel security programs.
- Two (2) years security experience managing access/intrusion control systems.
- Two (2) years of experience with GSA-approved locks with DoD and/or federal law enforcement agencies/organizations
- Active Top Secret clearance,
- Ability to use a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), and Outlook.
